The jinx has been shattered. Governor of Oyo State, Abiola Ajimobi has
won re-election in the State. He is the first governor to achieve such
feat since the return to democracy in Nigeria. He defeated ex-Governors
Rashidi Ladoja and Alao Akala and other governorship candidates in the
State.
Ajimobi (APC) pulled 327,310 votes, Ladoja of Accord had 254,520 votes, Alao Akala of LP had 184,111 votes, Teslim Folarin of PDP had 79,019 votes and Seyi Makinde of SDP had 54,740.

Of course this is the first time in Oyo’s history that a Governor will serve twice consecutively. Congrats!
