A 12-year-old girl sent to grind groundnut by her mother, Aisha Buba, on
Wednesday, met her untimely death when she was hooked and killed by a
grinding machine in Bauchi State.

“On the 15/4/2015 at about 10:00hrs, one Aisha Buba, female and 12 years of Galdimari district in Jama’are Local Government Area of Bauchi State was sent by her mother to process groundnut at a nearby grinding machine site. “Unfortunately, the machine fan belt hooked her cloth and dragged her to the ground. As a result, the victim sustained serious injuries,” the police spokesman, a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) said, adding that police patrol team attached to Jama’are division of the command rushed the deceased to the Jama’are General Hospital for medical attention, but she later died while receiving treatment.According to the PPRO, the remains of the deceased had since been released to her family for burial according to Islamic rights..
